Week of Jan. 14-18

  • Happy new year to everyone!
  • I would like to be sure that each student is jotting down their nightly reading into their nightly reading folders.  The more we read, the better readers we become.
  • In grade 4 math, we have been working on our multiplication facts.  There will be nightly paper homework practice next week.  I can't stress enough how important it is for the students to be practicing these facts because we will be starting 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication next week.
  • Grade 4 spelling words focus on the soft and hard g and c sound.  They are:  class, could, crayons, peace, recess, cycle, cereal, city, price, magnet, sugar, game, general, bridge, and gym.  We have started a unit on non-fiction reading and writing.
  • We are working away on our human body unit in science.  I will be handing back their diagram quiz on Monday to be signed.
  • Book orders are due Monday, Jan. 14.
  • Have a great week everyone!
