Week of November 16-19

  • I hope everyone has had a beautiful weekend!  The weather is definitely becoming cooler out there.
  • Grade 3/4-  We are continuing our work with skip counting  by 3,4,10, 100 and 25's forward and backwards.  The 3's are beginning to look at multiplication as equal groups, arrays, and repeated addition.  For example, 3x5 would be 3 groups of five, 5+5+5, or an array that may look like this 3 rows of 5      *****
  •                                               *****
  •                                               *****
  • We will be doing lots of practice drawing the equal group pictures and arrays to match the multiplication fact.  The grade 4's will be doing the same except they will be working with math facts up to 9x9.
  • Grade 3/4 will be having a math quiz on their adding and subtracting facts to 18 on Wednesday.
  • Grade6-  The grade 6's have been working on factors and multiples of numbers.  Also, we have been learning about prime and composite numbers.  I will be discussing an assignment with them Monday that I am thinking will be due on Thursday.  It will be a math/art activity on multiples of a number.
  • Have a wonderful week everyone.
